Style Guide

About our organization: The Illinois Valley Community Development Organization (IVCDO) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit committed to collaborative programs and inclusive partnerships that improve and change lives across communities of rural southwest Oregon. With a community based strategic plan focused on People, Place, and Prosperity, we champion sustainable development for vibrant economic, social, and cultural conditions.

We are in an important transition for the organization as we shift away from one very visible main project to serving 7 major program areas including Arts and Culture, Business and Economic Development, Community Capacity Building, Infrastructure, Forests and Watersheds, Health and Education, and Parks and Recreation.

One thing IVCDO does really well is rapid response. We are nimble and adapt our work for the current conditions. For example, when COVID-19 hit, we pivoted our in-person programs, to virtual settings and began coaching others to do the same. When the Slater Fire hit our community this summer our webpages and social media sites became a hub of accurate information and links. However, we have found since diversifying our programs, community members may not recognize or attribute our work to our organization.  A style guide would cut our response time so that we can serve our community quicker, and better establish familiarity and trust.

Project Description: In hopes to correct our identity crisis, IVCDO is seeking a professional eye to develop a style guide that conveniently brings our brand into one cohesive look. Working from our  existing logo and webpage (ivcdo.org), we would like to organize the components of a style guide to be easily accessible to and used by staff. This is a key element of our larger communication plan.

Key Deliverables:

  • Create a style guide including: Pantone color palette and RGB, CMYK and HEX conversions;  typography; logo style; program/client/partner quotes; local stock pictures and videos; cut and paste messaging; templates for emails, printed communications, presentations and posters; tips for creating content (IVCDO principles and goals; voice and tone, grammar and style); and other elements you recommend. The style guide needs to integrate with Canva.

  • Update existing logos to high resolution

  • Document instructions for using and managing the style guide
