Tell us about your organization: We are a medium sized nonprofit with a mission to raise awareness of the environment and the actions individuals and corporations can take to reduce their footprint on this earth.
Project Title: Earned Income Plan
Time commitment: Medium project, estimated hours between 80 - 120, to be completed within 4 months of start date. Flexible hours.
Work Environment/Location: ~ 50% of time at nonprofit location (address), 50% from home.
Project Description: Like many nonprofits, we have a strong need for sustainable funding. Our team is eager to implement an earned income plan, consistent with our mission, to stabilize our year to year funding. This project initiates the earned income plan by analyzing earned ideas to determine financial and operational viability, both in terms of startup and ongoing operations.
Key Deliverables:
- Assessment and recommendations for income-generating activities that will complement the current mission and existing programs (we have a brainstormed list from a previous effort).
- Actionable steps necessary to implement recommendations, alongside estimates of upfront time and monetary investment required.
- Challenges and potential risks identified in pursuing the plan.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required: Solid understanding of all aspects of a start up business. Ability to model market size, revenue, costs and profit. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education/Experience: At least 10 years finance experience. Previous work with start up business is a plus.
Resources: Desk space and a PC will be provided when working onsite.
